For the first time ever Special Olympics has launched a free smartphone application to support the Special Olympics European Games 2014.
The mobile app works on Android and iPhones, and has a range of exciting features that enables athletes, families, supporters and volunteers to stay up to date on the Games schedule, venue locations and latest scores and results. In addition the app allows users to keep updated on latest news, photos and videos around the Games as well as connect with other athletes, fans and friends.
‘The Special Olympics EU Games 2014’ application is now available to download for Android and iPhone.
For the first time at a Special Olympics European Games it will be possible for everyone’s photos taken on a smartphone to be uploaded in real time to one live photo stream that can be viewed via the app on your Android or iOS device. Visitors to the app can like and comment on their favourite pictures and comments as well as connect and share photos on facebook and twitter.
“We are delighted to be able to enhance the experience of athletes, families, supporters and volunteers participating at the 2014 Special Olympics European Games in Antwerp and those supporting them from around the world” says Mary Davis, President of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia. “The mobile app supports our vision of a world where everyone regardless of their abilities or disabilities is respected and celebrated.”
This project is funded by the European Union and developed by Spontly.
